Manoj Kumar Sahu; popularly known as ‘Sahuji of Odisha’ by most of
his YHAI associates; but for me he (Manoj_bhai) is an astounding traveler of
Odisha, which I cited on this blog. Apart from it, he is very simple living,
sweet talking, advisable and lovable to everyone; in our locality and also outside.
I would like
to add some of his quotes on himself, here: “He has a natural quality with burning
themes of adventurous, rocking on rocks while dumping on plucky; and the recite
is self – sufficient, about short address may find out on trekker's list. It’s
also an impressive collection to add as another encyclopedia to his series of
experienced collections while on adventuring programs.”
Apart from
this, in this social networking society, it’s very easy to gather information about
him; either from Facebook, Orkut, Google, Yahoo or any other sources. However, here
I am giving a sort description about him.
A Short
Biography:
Born (on 1st
July 1969) and brought up at Patrapur of Ganjam, Odisha (IN), he completed his schooling
from Chikiti Pentho High School (1985) and Graduated from Berhampur University
(1990). Even though he is a scholar and got several opportunities for various
Govt. and Non-Govt. jobs but due to his travel sickness, fond on journey and nature
of excelling the ideas of natural beauties and adventurous nosiness he left
jobs one after one. And at last, he started his own retail business to get rid
of such binding activities and pick out 30% of year’s time to spare and share in
the above said activities. He also opened a biscuit manufacturing unit and
participated in canteen and catering units during his retailing trip.
His Journey towards
an Incomplete Contentment:
At the age
of 13 he began touring; and for his longtime staying out of home, his father
got irate and didn’t talk with him for three years i.e. till he passed out the
Matriculation examination. In last 25 year, he tripped more than 100 times,
which is around 100days in a year; more than 1000 locations in and abroad
India; and taken more than 25,000 photographs till date. However, a number of
photographs were unprinted and lost/damaged due to several reasons and as on
today, he has around 20,000 photographs, got survived due to now’s digitization.
In this
blog, I’m trying to explore him and his ideas, opinions, experience, knowledge,
talent, tips, and advices on traveling, trekking, mountaineering, tourism, expedition
and many more topics to educate the explorers, travel seekers or lovers and our
next generation to acknowledge such a great person.
